Collections of folk tales and original stories designed to give service members who are far from home another way to build and maintain a connection with their children.
The project creates a tool for maintaining contact between service members who are far from home and their children — a loss of connection that grows more acute the longer the war lasts. It provides for the publication of a collection of heroic folk tales, as well as original tales by military writers. A child psychologist has been brought in to ensure the collections work as intended. The folk tales are meant to give children a foundation of values, while the original tales help children better understand the context they are living in and give military authors a chance to express themselves. The first collection, of folk tales, is already being prepared for publication.
