The Cultural Forces platform, in partnership with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and with the comprehensive support of the Kyiv City Military Administration, the city authorities, and the administration of Kyiv’s Central Park of Culture and Recreation, has created a unique interactive memorial in the very heart of the capital.
The memorial stands beside the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People in central Kyiv.
Located near the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People, the memorial complex is intended to be more than a place for honoring heroes. It will serve as a vibrant, contemporary center of remembrance and national resilience, bringing military and civilian communities together around their shared history.
The first step in developing the memorial was the installation of a commemorative monument dedicated to Ukrainian infantry soldiers. It was unveiled in 2025 as part of the first major public-awareness campaign devoted specifically to the infantry: “Ukraine Stands Because Its Infantry Stands.”
Markers of individual branches set into the alley’s pavement: Army Aviation, the Medical Forces, the Air Force, the Signal and Cyber Security Troops.
But this is only the beginning. The organizers plan to create a comprehensive memorial complex that will gradually recognize and immortalize the courage of every branch and component of Ukraine’s Defense Forces — from the Special Operations Forces and military intelligence to the Marine Corps and Air Assault Forces.
Another important aspect of the project is the creation of thought-provoking conceptual art installations in public spaces. These include “Turning Point in the War,” “Road of Life,” “The Infantry Has the Final Word,” “Retribution from the Sky,” and others.
