Candid conversations about the war with military personnel directly involved in combat missions.
RESPONSIBLE COMMUNICATION WITH THE CIVILIAN POPULATION ABOUT THE COURSE OF THE WAR FROM ITS DIRECT PARTICIPANTS
Without censorship or manipulation, but with full responsibility for adhering to due caution measures during wartime. We do not disclose information that could be valuable to the enemy or endanger Ukrainian Defense Forces units. At the same time, we provide an opportunity for our soldiers to speak out on issues that deeply affect them.
Due to prolonged absence from civilian life, military personnel develop their own perspective on events and phenomena.
Their perspective may differ from the dominant narratives in the information space. Due to limited opportunities and a lack of tools for expression, military personnel may begin to feel that their experience is excluded from the national information agenda. This poses a risk of societal segregation, as people live in separate realities for extended periods. Our task is to provide the military with a platform for communication with society.
“You can’t see the war from your own trench,” some self-proclaimed military analysts like to say. “But even less so from your couch,” replies the average soldier with Starlink. This is often the level of discussion you can see in comments between civilians and military personnel. It signals a deepening of existing tensions and the accumulation of new contradictions between the frontlines and the home front.
Given this, the project's task is to reduce the gap between military and civilian perceptions of the war by filling the information space with the voices of soldiers. *Voice of War* shows the civilian population that behind the arrows on the maps are real people, who make those arrows move at the cost of their lives and health.
PROJECT GOALS
To create an inclusive information environment that balances the military and civilian experience of the war.
To become the leading channel of communication between the frontlines and the home front; to be the voice of the military for civilians.
To create informal communication channels for studying and analyzing public sentiment among Ukrainians.
